How-To SPARK

Loading and reviewing P-Card transactions

Load the file

Click P-Card Excel and select the PNC Virtual Smart Card (VSC) export (.xlsx/.xlsm). SPARK reads the "Transactions" sheet, columns A–AI starting at row 3 — a different sheet name or a shifted header row is why a real export sometimes won't parse.

Database vs One-time

The first load in a session asks you to choose: - Database — the batch counts toward PULSE, so you can Finalize to PULSE once you're done reviewing, and it counts toward future Trend history. - One-time — a scratch review. You still see every flag and can export, but nothing writes back to PULSE.

Reviewing flagged rows

Use the badge row above the table (All Issues, High Dollar, Split Cluster, Duplicate Chg, Spend Outlier, Susp Merchant) to filter to a specific pattern. Click a row to open its detail view.

Finalize to PULSE

Pick a Period (the reporting month) — Finalize to PULSE stays disabled until you do. Finalizing writes the reviewed batch straight into PULSE's tables, no Excel/SharePoint hand-off involved. Re-finalizing the same batch reports its rows as duplicates rather than inserting them twice.

Trend

Click Trend, pick the month to run through and a trailing window (3 mo, 6 mo, or 12 mo). This pulls that history straight from PULSE — no file to load — and reruns the same scoring, now with enough data for the statistical flags. It's read-only except for Save Rolling Baseline to PULSE, which stores that run's per-employee/approver numbers as a dated snapshot.

Exporting

Export ▾ gives you CSV (raw data) or the PCard Distribution Export — the original file with flag, risk, standardized-merchant, and Monthkey columns appended.
