How-To SURGE

Forecasting by Job or Phase

By default, a contract shows one forecast row for the whole contract. If you need to break it down further, SURGE supports drilling into individual Jobs and Phases.

The Detail Level dropdown

A per-user Detail Level filter controls how much detail shows across the board:

Job/Phase names come from FC_vw_Job_Phase. Rows are fetched on demand when you click "+", not loaded all at once — some contracts have thousands of jobs, so this keeps the page fast.

Pinning specific contracts

If you always want Jobs (or Jobs & Phases) visible for one particular contract — regardless of what your global Detail Level dropdown is set to — you can pin it from the grid's own "+"/"-" toggle, or manage your pins from the Preferences page. A pinned contract stays expanded even if you reset the Detail Level dropdown back down.

Locked months at Job/Phase grain

There's no separate actuals data at the Job/Phase level, so if a contract's month is locked (closed), the Job/Phase rows for that month show blank and read-only too — not the contract's own actual figure.
